Dear Rowland Unified School District Families and Community,
It is with a blend of emotions that I share this heartfelt message with you. After a remarkable journey spanning the past decade, I wish to announce my upcoming retirement at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
Reflecting on the past ten years fills me with immense pride and gratitude for the partnership, trust, and unwavering support you've extended to me, our Board of Education and our district. Your trust in us to educate and nurture the minds and hearts of your children has been the cornerstone of our shared success.
Our collective efforts have been dedicated to providing Innovative Learning for All that have reshaped the educational landscape in our district. From an early focus on the integration of cutting-edge technologies, to the most recent development of our Guiding Principles, our aim has been to create an environment where every student can thrive and excel. It's this mindset that has guided us through every decision, ensuring that the unique needs and aspirations of each student are at the forefront of everything we do.
Undoubtedly, navigating the challenges brought by the global pandemic tested our resilience and adaptability. Yet, it was during this time that our unity and determination shone brightest. Together, we faced uncertainty head-on, adapting swiftly to ensure the continuous support and education of our students. There have been numerous milestones along this journey, each a testament to our collective dedication, passion, and commitment. Every success, every challenge overcome, has been made possible because of the confidence and support you've shown us.
I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to work for and with a talented Board of Education who is committed to serving students, staff and community. I look forward to continuing to provide strong, uncompromised leadership all the way through my last day in June and I am confident that the commitment of innovation, collaboration, and dedication will continue to flourish under the capable hands of our extraordinary team. In early 2024, the Board of Education will begin the process of selecting their next Superintendent and will keep you informed of the process along the way.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege of being a part of your children's educational journey. Your trust and support have been invaluable and it has been an honor to serve your children and our community as the Superintendent.
